Did that chipmunk analogy work? No? Then go ahead and fill in your own. Something about hoarding would be nice, thanks. You're good at this!
The good news? I survived last week. A birth with a doula client, the passing of a dear pony friend, and a wedding tied my sanity up in a pretty little bow. And that's not even going into the rest of the everyday life stuff that just doesn't stop coming even when you'd like to come up for a breath. But I did it. I even got some writerly tasks done for other deadlines, which gives me hope. A few years back when I lost my other horse, the grief crippled my creative mind for months in the most horrid case of writer's block. Thankfully, that doesn't seem to be where I'm at right now. In fact, as soon as I sign off here, I'm diving into revisions for my next two releases (hopefully), the anthology, and looking at some excerpts from two of my critique partners. That, to me, is a good sign.
For now, I'm taking things one day at a time, and kicking my heels up when I can. Just like this.
